*Ways to Help Your Child at Home*
- Have your child go to bed early each night.
- Have your child eat a healthy breakfast each morning.
- Bring your child to school on-time every morning.
- Read to your child, read with your child, and listen to your child read every night!
- Play games and talk with your child.
- Go to the library with your child.
- Ask your child about his or her day while listening and asking questions.
- Write special notes to your child. Slip them into his or her lunch or backpack for a great surprise.
- Look over and discuss your child’s homework each night with him or her.
- Provide counting experiences for your child (i.e. counting change, counting stairs in your house, counting socks in the laundry).
- Give encouragement and support for what your child is doing in first grade!
